Elk Creek Falls

We stopped along the road at Elk Creek Falls.  This is the main branch of the river near the road.  The water was incredibly clear and beautiful.

The river was so incredibly blue and clear!

There were rocky bluffs on the other side of the main river from the road.

It was hard to get good photos of the rocky bluffs on the other side of the river due to the high contrast between the clouds and the trees. This video gives you a bit of an idea of what it looks like.

This little waterfall only runs in the winter.

We found a partially consumed six pack of Coors Light sitting on the bench by the falls.

I decided against trying this left behind beer.

Waking up Next to a Waterfall on Highway 939

After driving most of the mud and rock Highway 939, I pulled off the road and slept in my car overnight.  The rain pounded down all night long.  The back of a Yaris is not particularly comfortable.

This pullout had a plaque dedicated to the man who built the road.

 What a waterfall!

Time to get back on the road.

Back on the road.
