Picton Ferry Crossing

As Kristen and I were waiting to take the Picton Ferry to the South Island, the New Zealand Army rolled up.  They were on the ferry with us, too.

Be all that you can be!  New Zealand Army!

Aboard the ferry.

In case of emergency.

Sailing to the South Island.

Yay ferries!

Wellington Day 2

A very true sign on our second day in Wellington.

Looking out at the harbor in Wellington from a prominent overview.

The Carter Observatory in Wellington.

A neat sundial.

We found a cool park that we walked through.

Oh and we went shopping before the park…

And then we found this awesome sculpture.

Evidently it’s a listening and viewing device.

Kristen tried it out.

The cable car was a lot of fun.

Over at the museum in Wellington we found this huge black circle.  It intrigued us.

For the Glory of the Empire!

A small fleet of sailboats on the harbor.

Odd sculptures.

A memorial to the United States Marine Corps for WWII.

Yes, Jack Yan ran on a platform of bringing free wi-fi to Wellington.  Awesome.

Holding up a statue.

Time for a pint!

Wellington Day 1

This is a rather odd thing to see in Wellington.  It’s supposed to symbolize the film industry of New Zealand that happens to be headquartered in this area.  We both saw a terrifying three-legged walking movie camera.

Random benches are random.

I think it’s a fish.  Maybe.

An ANZAC and WWII memorial.

The Beehive: Seat of New Zealand power.

For being the capital, there sure wasn’t much in the way of security.

We found the supreme court just down the street.

Motorcycles and a random fallen column.

More motorcycles!

Time for a pint.

Lots of interesting murals around Wellington.

A lion and a unicorn.  Awesome.

Food time.

Random lizard.

And then in started raining as we went home.
